Heilan Mary
21-04-06, 04:11 PM
Why not have one format for the guys and one for the girls??

Steve
21-04-06, 05:44 PM
Whats wrong with a pink one for the girls... and a blue one for the lads... lmao

Celtic Mitch
21-04-06, 05:54 PM
Why do we have to differentiate? I never see the point in that at all.

Mom2Grace

NOOOOOOOO PINK! :P
Can I ask though, that if you do the shirts, have the women's done on womens shirts? I absolutely hate how bulky the men's shirts can be! Great idea!

Why not have one format for the guys and one for the girls??

Because I'm rather small and skinny...

And I rather don't walk around te worlds looking like I escaped from
some psychiatric hospital :bg:

Anyway, I'll try designing one myself...

When is the deadline for the designs?

Steve
22-04-06, 08:27 PM
I would set a dead line of about 4 weeks... The day of Dumbarton...

Hello All:

Part of my home business is that I screen print T-Shirts. I can do up to 4 colors. The complexity of the design is aligned with the expense of the shirts. In essence the more simple the design, the cheaper I can do it for the forum. If anyone is interested in pricing and such, let me know.

Mom2Grace
13-05-06, 02:13 PM

None at the moment...even sleep shirts wear out. Working on getting some though...lmao

Any progress on the t-shirts????

I know what you mean girl! I have one or two of those myself!!

But seriously, we need a logo for this forum....maybe we can get one from the best designed tshirt?? I'd say we should have a logo contest first, but that's not leaving much time...or is it?????

Mitch...we could add the logo to our CGDT shirts!

As of Wed. night, I'll be offline until at least Tuesday next week. I'll see if I can't come up with something before then...hopefully.

phyx
16-05-06, 02:12 PM
OK...so last night I decided that I'd give it a try and before doing so, I'd update some plugins for my Gimp. Problem is, now it doesn't work like it used to, so I'm upgrading my entire operating system to get it fixed. I tried updating just the Gimp, but that messed up other stuff, so now I'm working on doing a full system overhaul.

Hopefully I can get it functional tonight, but I'm not sure. I'm actually really angry at my computer right now...:fu: Hopefully I'll get it sorted before going camping this weekend.

Oh yeah, that could get some of us in trouble REAL quick. "Honey, why do you have a picture of a woman drinking wine in a hot tub on your shirt??". All them brownie points I've built up would be gone in a flash.

phyx
17-05-06, 09:55 PM
Sorry, Steve, I won't be able to make any designs until next week. Last night I had to re-install Linux (upgrade as I screwed up my old one by trying to update the wrong way ) I'm getting all my stuff ready to go away for the weekend tonight, and leaving immediately after work tomorrow--won't be back until late Monday...so it will have to be next week. :(

Adam
19-06-06, 01:29 PM
Hi Mary, ye've made a mistake with yer signature, it says Boghall n' Bathgate...only joking, I hope you are doing fine with the new band.

I noticed on the T-shirt link that DP posted, they do one that says, "Who needs big **** with an ass like this?".

Sooo........for the pipers in the band "Who needs drummers with pipers like these?", and "Who needs pipers with drummers like these?" for the drummers.

"Who needs enemies with judges like these?" for the unplaced. Triple yer T-shirts sales..........

Heilan Mary

I like it. I just recommend that you check on the legality of using the altered image.

phyx
07-07-06, 03:22 PM
Scarlet, it had a yellow background when last I looked at my post...now it's normal--which is weird. And I was off work at the time I posted. :bg:

I agree about the legality. I can't think it would be too big of a deal though, considering all the t-shirts/posters/bumper stickers I've seen that are a blatant rip off of other logos.

However, I might could change it up a bit, and replace the harp symbol--then it's just another pint of dark beer--nothing specific to any one in particular.

Mom2Grace
07-07-06, 06:26 PM
I like that!!! Great! I do agree about the legality thing though...anyone actually checking into it?
I think that you should have the small website addy on the front AND the lager one accross the back. :)

Keep workin' Phyx.....you are nearly there....looks really great. We need keep in mind all that we may not be able to represent each individual group. Phyx may need to find a symbol that represents us all as a whole. Think of the logistics nightmare of printing off so many with such a small difference to each.

phyx
13-07-06, 11:29 AM
I'll try to figure something out for it. Maybe I can squeeze both a piper and a drummer into it.

What's the scoop?

Did you know that if we send Land's End or L.L.Bean the logo, they will do them embroidered on any shirt we select. They are very nice quality polo shirts or t-shirts. I kind of like the classy polo shirts myself.

I don't mind kicking in the bucks if it means I get to be one of the gang.

I'll happily back that up. When I played with Saffron (a US east coast band), we had nice ballcaps and polo shirts made up by LandsEnd one of the times we played in the All Irelands, we just sent them the logo and they made everything up. One note, the shirts do tend to run a bit large-ish, but otherwise very high quality.

Gillian, there are some manufacturers that no matter what the logo, they can put it on ANY style top. Even if you find a special one that you buy yourself and send to them.

You've got the body for it. Old ladies like me -- I'm happy with a nice long-sleeved shirt with a turtle neck and a hem that covers my skinny chicken legs and ankles.

Over here everybody uses a white background for t-shirts...and black is really hot inthe sun (besides, how well are you gonna see guiness on a black shirt...?...)

What about a grey background tee? Shows up nice, bit diff....

Just my twa cents...

Scarlet O'Hair
21-07-06, 12:33 PM
It would be much easier to stick with two colours. Black would look awesome if it could be done, and gray would hold up much better than white in the long run.

Black would look best IMHO. If you look at the image, the black background makes the pint look nicer. If you put a white (or any other color) background to it, the pint would show up more clearly as a pint, but it wouldn't look nearly as nice as it does...again, IMHO.

So yeah, if we've got choices, I'll take black please...and that goes for my beer too. :bg:

21-07-06, 09:27 PM
I think the black pinter on the black shirt will look fantastic.

Also, ladies, if you don't want the shirt to be so mannish, you can either cut out the neck band and it opens up the neck wider, or turn it under and stitch it down and again it opens up the neck. I always roll up the sleeves a bit and stitch them with the iron on stitch-witchery.:witch:

Somehow, I get the feeling that CGDT shirts might be for members only. This simply means that they now need CGDT "fan club" or "suppliers" or "enablers" or ??? (should we have a vote?) shirts for the masses.

Bobby

what ??? ....What did I say???......I don't see anything wrong there??...

Methinks your mind is working overtime there Dai old buddy....:mlf:

Off topic.....we actually have two legal systems here in Canada. One for Quebec (not criminal law)where they use the Napoleonic code, and one for the rest of the country.

In Quebec women may legally marry at the age of 14 with parental consent.

so.....at 14 you can create life, at 18 you can drive, take life, & risk your own (military service), and be legally resonsible for your actions, and at 19 you can drink alcohol (18 in Quebec)

hmmmmmm something just a bit ****eyed about all that I think.

Ottawa is a wonderful city. We are situated right on the border between Ontario and Quebec. The city of Gatineau (formerly named Hull and just a little bit on the seedy side) on the Quebec side was a mecca of sorts for all us kids when the drinking age was a year younger on the Quebec side, and the bars were allowed to be open 2 hours longer than on the Ontario side. There'd be an exodus of people across the river every night at about 11:00 to the bars on the Hull side, and the bartenders were notoriously blind with regard to ID. ha ha ha Of course now I'm older, know better, and hardly drink at all any more. Strangely enough I seem to have less spendable cash than when I was making much less.

Bobby
24-07-06, 02:46 PM
Will we be able to get a shirt before Maxville?? Lot's of us going to be there and it would be nice to be able to spot each other from a distance. Should be something on the back as well. Perhaps the webaddress or a piper and drummer?
