Default Drum Scores

Hi all,

I'm currently in a band without an drummers, so really it isn't a band and more of a pipe corps. We've recently managed to get a learner drummer, and an ex-irish guards drummer to teach her.

Anyhow, he says he'd like to have a look at some drum scores for pipe bands before he starts teaching her. So I was wondering if any drummers here would be willing to share with my band some simple beats (is that right?) for some tunes.

Are beatings tune specific or can they be time sig. specific?

If they are tune specific, could anyone spare a moment and send me the scores for;

Scotland the Brave
Rowan Tree
Wings
Loch Ruan
Brown Haired Maiden
High Road to Gairloch
Haughs of Cromdale

Thanks all for your time and help, my band and I really appreciate your effort.

Thanks again,

SP

Drum scores can be either tune or time signature specific. For good all-around beatings, he could work on the massed band beatings: the ones that we use here in the EUSPBA can be found at http://www.euspba.org/resource-music...banddrums.aspx They're not neccessarily the easiest, but they can be made simpler by removing the flams and drags.

Hello Scottish Piper

try these two. The setting for Scotland the Brave works well with the Rowan Tree. The second part of Scotland might be a bit beyond her yet, but the first part should be fine.
BB Boys is a setting that we use as a general setting and this is the first setting I teach to a learner.
Hope this helps

Kind Regards Andy D

Also suggest that he listen to some on YouTube so he gets a feel for the signature dot-cut swing of the music.
