Hello all :)
About a year ago I picked up a great cane reed from the McCallum Factory in Scotland on a school trip, and I have been using it ever since. It is very loud and quite tough to play, but not in a bad way - it is actually perfect for what I do at the moment. However, I realise that when this reed 'dies', the other reeds that our band to replace it, are not nearly as powerful as this one reed. Could anyone recommend a reed brand that is loud, vibrant and hard to play? I use an McC2 Blackwood solo chanter if that is any help. Note: I am referring to a pipe chanter reed - I currently use a set of crozier cane tenors, and a carbon fibre bass. Thanks, C. Hunter Last edited by Chunter5; 01-04-11 at 12:16 PM.. Reason: Didn't specify - looking for reed for pipe chanter - |
