It's obligatory at St Patrick's Day parties in the USA, along with everybody wearing green, and getting drunk, and singing Danny Boy. meh

Over 35 years piping I've had St Patrick's Days when I've had six or seven gigs, and one year where I only had one gig. And me playing both GHB and uilleann pipes, go figure.

Anyhow this year was fairly quiet, just playing GHB at my local church for 20 minutes, and then doing what I've done for over ten years now, play at a local house party. It's an easy, quiet, and good-paying gig, sitting in the corner and playing uilleann pipes, Scottish smallpipes, and whistles for a couple hours. Sure beats being out late blowing on the big pipes in a crowded noisy pub full of drunk people wearing green and singing Danny Boy.

This was my St Paddy's Day kit this year

(I wear that 100 year old goathair sporran all the time)

never ate it and only wear green when playing or watching football, as for the getting drunk I try to get as much practise as possible.
