I just received word that a former band-mate passed.
Chuck Copland was a good hearted fellow I had seen around for some time, and played with a single season. He was part of the "Thinning Grey Line" in with me in the Grade 3 Windsor Police when the bass and tenor section had an average age of... old. He played with a slew of bands, some competitive, some non-comptetive, and gave all he had at practice and in performance. He was a member of Branch 255 RCL and bought me a beer once, even though I was in the American Legion. I had not seen him since the last time I was at Detroit St. Andrew Games. Now our reunion will be much delayed. His official obituary in the Windsor Star is here: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/win...271&fhid=14783
