Default An Evening in London with Bill Livingstone

The SPSL is proud to present

An Evening with Bill Livingstone
Thursday 5th November 2009
Upstairs at The Roebuck, 50 Great Dover Street, London, SE1 4YG,
7.30 p.m.
5 mins walk from Borough or London Bridge Tube

Tickets 10 SPSL Members / 12.50 non-members. 7.30 start. Tickets available on the door.
This promises to be a unique evening and a great way to warm-up to the Bratach Gorm.
For any more information call 07930 451084 or email: alasdairthepiper@hotmail.com

Bill is the long standing Pipe Major of the 78th Fraser Highlanders from Ontario, Canada. The first non-Scottish band ever to win the World Pipe Band Championships, they have travelled 16 times to the Worlds and made the top 6 on 12 occasions, an outstanding record all under Bill's leadership. He has also won countless solo piping awards, notably both Gold Medals and the coveted Clasp at the Northern Meeting twice.

The evening will consist of two halves. The first will be an open forum of questions and answers with a different emphasis from this event last year with plans for at look at a DVDs of recent and historic performances by the 78th Fraser Highlanders, and hear comment and reflection on these and other piping matters.

The second half will be a recital giving us a rare opportunity to hear one of the world's most successful pipers in the heart of this sprawling metropolis
Bill is a fascinating speaker and outstanding player and musician. He has released many recordings including the much acclaimed Northern Man this summer.

Well, you could always come the London Comp at Kensington on the Saturday 7th and see Willie McCallum, Bruce Gandy, Stuart Liddell, Roddy MacLeod, Robert Wallace and about 140 other pipers, then come up the Churchill Arms after for a swift half?

I'll try and see them, but I'll be competing myself, so I might not be able to see them all.

Be nevertheless, looking forward to it!

omg, that's it.

I'm leaving hubby and moving back home!

Canada never gets evenings like this, and I'm sure hubby would enjoy the peace and quiet.

Especially if I bring Piper Twin and Drummer Twin home with me!
