My highlight was managing to get to Scotland just for few days!
Dead chuffed for Boghall taking home two Major titles.....good to see them winning again and sounding awesome. Gotta love that Vintage Boghall sound.. Very happy with the University of Bedfordshire putting in some stellar performances too....onwards and upwards boys and girls! Finally - rising form the ashes we have Manchester Phoenix in Grade 4 who have had a good season too...three top ten finishes (5th, 6th & 7th) in three Majors is a great return. Heard some quality recordings from the comps this year and I was amazed at the standard across all the grades but particularly in Grades 4....very high. Already looking forward to next year....hopefuuly get to two Majors at least. Daz

Highlight for me was listening to all the grade 1 mishaps at the worlds, this was mostly due to the camera and mic at the start line methinks?!?!?!
Its a highlight for me, cause normally in the lower grades u get pulverised for most of the dodgy starts i heard that day ![]()

Gonna be a few from me....
1: My first time piping at the Worlds. A very different experience from competing as a DM. We qualified for the final - a good day all round. I'll remember that experience. Actually a good weekend all round. 2: Cowal circle - when lots of bands all formed 1 big circle in the tuning park during the march past. I was one of the DMs who joined in. Brilliant experience! Anyone who was there will know what I mean. 3: The season in general - I've gained more experience as piper, loved playing with the band, loved the craic at the contests... First prizes as part of the band this season.... Roll on May again! ![]()

Now that the season is over, the highlights for me were:
1) Competing in solos, (and taking it seriously) for the first time in 20+ years. 2) Taking a position on my local associations executive. 3) Putting the time in for practising, and taking lessons, and having it pay off with some fairly decent plays (regardless of getting a placing). 4) Getting (mostly) positive comments from people watching events. 5) Once again enjoying the banter and beverages in the beer tent after a days worth of piping. 6) Realizing how much I love this "hobby" (frustrating moments and all), and wishing the 2013 season started tomorrow. |

what kind of fight.... there were upsets, but I wouldn't go so far as to say a fight.
