Beag the Bear's Charity Collections

I have been talking to Steve, about our little World Wide traveller, BEAG the Bear. As most of you know I have been raising money for some years for a Childrens Home here in Wales.
It is called Ty Hafan, it caters for children many who have terminal illness, As you will imagine it takes a great deal of money to keep this home running, so every little bit helps.
Already thanks to MLF making a donation, Dharron donating the sticks to DOR, and a donation in lieu from me, The Pipe Band Forum is already recognised by the Home as a Fund raiser.
Steve has come up with the brilliant idea, of whoever is looking after Beag at the time, they take him to their local Pub and ask the patrons to make donations? no matter whether it be change or more every little will be gratefully accepted. I will keep everyone up to date with the money being raised, and also the Children can follow his travels also.
As Steve said, the PBF is now getting bigger and bigger and it would be nice to show the world that we are a caring bunch

I think it's a MOST excellent idea for a MOST excellent BEAR!

When he comes to visit you, could you get some photos of him with the children and some sort of ID so people can see the benefit they will be giving to these wee ones? The ID also makes it not seem so flaky.

Beag was sent to visit me last year when I had two surgeries. Things were pretty wacky and he was a wonderful cheerful sort. We took him all over with us and got lots of goofy photos. I wish we had this idea going back then.

I think if we get him an ID, and also you have to check with his Mom, Scarhand. I know he likes going to pubs and prefers Boddingtons.

I think Dai is going to head up the Beag Ty Haffan Foundation. I just sent him some articles on setting up charity websites.

Dai that is excellent! Beag was looking for a way to be helpful. Traveling around meeting people is fun, but he wanted to make a difference. He loves to hang around with people with tubes going out of them, and with little kids, and he loves to be helpful and cheerful and eat peanut butter cookies. Still can't convince him that sheep are interesting, but I'm sure you can work on that. Pictures of him with the kids would be excellent heartsstring tuggers for pub-goers, and an ID would lend authenticity to his mission. I'm all for it!!!

Does Beag the Bear go to Gatherings? He could gather up all the change in the Beer Tent.

I am so overwhelmed by all the kindness being shown by you folks, You dont know me, you live all over the World yet you show compassion and kindness, typical Pipe Banders? we try to be the carefree boozy lot? but underneath? we care/, Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart.
Can I just point out, this was actually Steve's idea? not mine, I love the idea of Beag having his own site etc?, but when it comes to sorting out officail stuff on here? I stand back, I only recently got my Licence saying I can start the PC up and switch it off?
I will get all the info from Ty Hafan, and then I am afraid will have to stand back and let Scarlet, Steve, or MLF do the hard work
