New on the PBF and 1st post

Greetings to all! I recently joined PBF and decided I'd post an introduction.
I started following an underlying interest in piping back in the early 90's
and joined the old mailing lists that were floating around back in those
days. I couldn't really contribute anything as I wasn't a piper so I just
lurked and "listened". It was very informational. I didn't actually take
the plunge and buy a practice chanter (and College of Piping Vol. I)
until January of 1997. Found a local teacher, Malcolm Forbes of Merrimack,
NH and started on my way. 11 years later, I am a member of the NH
School of Scottish Arts band (for the past 4 years) and former member
of another local pipe band for 5 years prior to that. I'm glad I "bumped"
into PBF last week and look forward to being a member!
