Default Discworld by Terry Pratchett

Discworld as created by Terry Pratchett, can only exist in a universe so big that there is somewhere for everything to happen. It's right out there on the edge. As the name suggests it's a flat world and has a large central spike (where the gods live!). It floats through space on the back of 4 giant elephants. What do they stand on I hear you ask. On Great A'tun, the giant space turtle, as he heads through space to some destination he chooses to keep to himself.

These thirty or so books are fantasy humour, but to classify them so simply is to underestimate them. There are many folk and literary themes which are given the TP scrutiny with hilarious results. Each book stands up on its own as an enjoyable read, however there are some groups of characters who appear in more than one story. Reading these books in sequence will allow you to see the characters develop along with the style.

If your not sure you should pop into the bookstore and pick up any of the series, open at any two pages and read them, I you don't laugh then don't buy it, it's not for you!
