Default RSPBA scoring

How much weight is each judge's ranking given in an RSPBA competition -- in particular, regarding the Worlds.

25% each...

Piping = 50%
Drumming = 25%
Ensemble = 25%

why do you ask?

what do you mean by weight and ranking????..its very simple.. points are allocated 1 for 1st 2 for 2nd 3 for rd and so on...then they are added together and lowest score wins

The reason for the question is that here in the EUSPBA the piping counts for 60% of the score, while drumming and ensemble count for only 20% each.

I think I like the RSPBA method better -- it should encourage bands to think more about how they sound as a band, instead of how the pipe corps sounds.

Its also worth saying that in the event of a draw the winning band is decided on ensemble preference eg

P P D E Total
Auchtermashoogle 1 2 1 2 6
Ballyshuchtie 2 1 2 1 6

I this case Ballyshuchtie would win because of their high ensemble mark so it could be argued emsemble carries slightly more weigh than the others, well when 2 bands have the same points anyway

that would only be at championships..as theres hardly ever an ensemble judge at the wee contests..soo who would win it then??

Piping preference.

Also, at wee competitions where there is only one piping and one drumming judge, the piping points are doubled therefore (in placings)

P D
1 2
2 1

becomes (as points)

P D T
2 2 4
4 1 5
